More and more people are experiencing break-ins in their containers, regardless of whether they are used as a depot for tools and machines on a construction site, or stand with piece goods loaded on a truck. It is not only unfortunate and causes a lot of work with reporting to the police and insurance company. This usually also means a loss of credibility towards the customers, who have the schedule for their construction pushed back, or lose their goods.

Several different container locks to choose from

At AutoLock we have several different types of container locks to choose from. All our container locks are in class 5, which is why they can be used as approved container locks with the insurance companies.

Eliminate theft effectively with an insurance-approved interior container lock

With an insurance-approved container lock from Autolock.dk, you can effectively put an end to theft from your containers. Here, the lock is fixed to the container and the locking mechanism is located on the inside of the container doors.

Flexible container locks without assembly

Eg. we offer so-called flexible solutions. Here, the container lock is not physically mounted on the individual container, but can be attached if necessary. It makes it possible to use the same container lock for several different containers.

This solution is particularly suitable if you do not always need to keep your containers locked. Or if you regularly receive containers from your suppliers that you need to lock while they wait to be emptied.

The flexible container lock does not require you to physically intervene on the container. It is easily mounted on the container doors with a bracket with internal wing nuts on the left door. When the right door is closed, the external pawl ensures that the doors cannot be broken open without breaking noisy tools.

Fixed container locks

If you want to secure your containers more permanently, you must instead choose a fixed solution. Here you can choose between a solution with either an internally or externally located locking mechanism. Both solutions are screwed through the container doors with a bolt system and use drill-proof locking cylinders.

The externally placed container lock is probably the most well-known and is in class 5 all resistant to attacks to varying degrees.

The internally placed container lock is available in two types. One has the locking mechanism itself located on the inside, and the lock box with associated lock cylinder located on the outside. It provides a more discreet and stylish locking that seems more integrated with the container. The second type has a larger box, but the locking mechanism on both types is located inside.

Here, too, the doors of the container are pierced so that the locking system can be bolted to the container doors. Because the locking system itself is located inside, it becomes even more difficult to destroy the lock without drawing unnecessary attention to the thieves.

How to choose the right container lock

Please note that it is possible to get the same key for a number of locks from the same manufacturer. If you choose to have the same key for several containers, you must be aware of the consequences if a key is lost. As standard, 3 keys are supplied for each container lock

When choosing a container lock, you must primarily decide:

Which lock type is right for the situation.

Which container type the lock is to be used on. If the container has a special structure or insulation that requires longer bolts for installation - please contact us for guidance.

Which type of lock is the right one?

With lock type, we allude to whether the lock must be flexible - i.e. removable - or must be permanently mounted on the container.

Here it is partly about whether you need to lock the container all the time, or only occasionally. As well as whether you own the container yourself or it is a borrowed or rented container that you need locked.

Here, a flexible container lock is the solution

Do you e.g. regularly delivered goods in a container that you cannot manage to empty on the same day you receive it? Then a flexible lock is a good solution. It can be installed without you having to drill or otherwise intervene on the container doors.

It is also the solution if you do not always need to lock your containers. If you have several containers, you can thus reuse the same lock across the individual containers when needed.

Here you must choose a fixed container lock

Do you regularly use your containers to store valuables - e.g. tools and machinery on a construction site? Or do you use the containers to transport bulk goods or other types of goods, products or valuables for your customers?

Then you must choose a fixed container lock on your containers. They are available in several different designs as shown above.

The fixed mounting makes the containers extra difficult to break open without the use of powerful and very noisy angle grinders. It provides a greater preventive effect against theft.

Avoid the thief seeing your container as an easy target.
